The Filipino Festival is a vibrant multicultural community event that celebrates the rich culture, heritage, and traditions of the Philippines.
The festival brings people together through authentic Filipino food, cultural performances, music, dance, arts and crafts, community displays, and family-friendly activities.
The event promotes cultural diversity, community connection, social inclusion, and an appreciation of Filipino culture while welcoming people of all backgrounds to participate and celebrate together.
The Tyers Art Festival—one of Gippsland’s longest running and most loved community arts events—celebrates its 47th year from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November 2026 at the Tyers Community Hall. The Festival brings together artists, photographers, makers and visitors for a full weekend of creativity, culture and community connection.
Across the weekend, visitors can explore an extensive exhibition of artworks across Oil, Acrylic, Watercolour, Pastel, Mixed Media, Craft and Drawing, alongside the new Tyers Landscape Photography Competition, highlighting Gippsland’s inland natural beauty. The Festival also features major awards including the Jean Galbraith Prize, GLaWAC Art Award, Hangers Choice Award, Popular Choice Award and Young Artist Awards.
The festivities begin on Friday evening with the Gala Opening Night (7pm–11pm), an immersive celebration featuring live music, drinks and canapés, Bush Tucker Bites, and the chance to meet the 2026 Feature Artist Barry Masterman Smith.
Across Saturday and Sunday, the Tyers Art Exhibition is open to the public, offering the opportunity to view and purchase artworks, vote in the Popular Choice Award, and enjoy local entertainment. The weekend also includes the Makers & Bakers Market at Bert Christensen Reserve, Gallery Graze food and wine sessions and Devonshire Tea.
Whether you’re an art lover, photographer, local resident or weekend visitor, the Tyers Art Festival offers a welcoming, inspiring and uniquely Gippsland experience.

The International Rose Garden Festival Morwell continues to grow in strength and popularity.
Held in mid-November to showcase the roses and garden in season and in full bloom, the festival program has evolved to deliver family-friendly activities and entertainment across multiple days.
Showcasing the international award-winning Rose Garden in the heart of Morwell and celebrating the work of the Friends of the Rose Garden Volunteers, the 2026 Festival promises to be a blooming spectacle of colour and light for all ages.
Visitors can explore the roses, take part in a range of free activities, treat their taste buds to a traditional Devonshire Tea at the CWA marquee or partake in retail therapy at the garden and market stalls.
The festival kick’s off on Friday night with food trucks, roving performers and a kid’s disco with DJ Nige from 6.30pm. On Saturday, parents and kids are in for a treat with Costa the Gnome, dirtgirl and scrapboy from dirtgirlworld, performing their grubby bucket live stage show and hosting a Storytime! Novice gardeners are invited to participate in the cut rose competition for the chance to win great prizes.
Festival partner AGL Loy Yang, presents the Night Light Installation during the evenings. Explore the garden at night when the roses are transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour from hundreds of fairy lights, festoons and LED lights. The popular giant bubble show and Bloom aerial acrobats return. Visitors are encouraged to explore the many surroundin pop-up events, immerse yourself in a Festival workshop or cultural exhibition at the Latrobe Regional Gallery, there are so many choices.
Rug up, enjoy a picnic amongst the roses with food from the festival food trucks and chill out to the tunes from local musicians.
