This session will explore the basics of WorkSafe's role in harm prevention and enforcement. WorkSafe will address local issues, welcome questions from the audience and explain how to create safer workplaces.
How to support injured Victorians back to work

An interactive case study on a worker who has been injured at work and as a result has submitted a workers compensation claim for a mental injury. We will discuss an employer's Return to Work planning obligations, with a focus on how to balance both the mental injury and meeting obligations. This presentation will also provide the audience with the opportunity to ask questions about planning for a workers return to work.
Manual handling basics: Do's and don'ts of risk control

If you want to learn how to prevent injuries due to hazardous manual handling in your workplace, this session is for you. Using a case study, we’ll explain how to use the hierarchy of control to develop better risk controls. We will explain why training or reminding people to lift properly isn't effective, tell you what to do instead and answer any questions.
Value of Health and Safety representatives (HSRs)

Learn about the importance and value of health and safety representatives (HSRs) for your organisation. The session will focus on consultation, representation of employees on health and safety matters and the value of HSR's in this process.
