Bloom Exhibition
18 October 2025 – 1 February 2026
Works from the Latrobe Regional Gallery Collection
Presented by Collections Curator Alexandra Drummond
Bloom is an exploration of growth, transformation, and connection. The exhibition delves into the processes of becoming, whether through the literal blooming of flowers, the seasonal shifts that nurture them, or the deep-rooted cultural, spiritual, and personal connections they evoke. In this space, the act of blooming becomes a metaphor for emergence, a manifestation of life’s cyclical rhythms.
Coinciding with the International Rose Garden Festival Morwell, across four thematic sections, the artworks presented invite reflection on the ways in which nature and human experience intertwine.
From vibrant floral imagery that celebrates the ephemeral beauty of flowers, to expansive landscapes that embody the nourishing cycles of regeneration, the exhibition expands our understanding of what it means to bloom both as individuals and as a collective. The works on display also engage with themes of identity, culture, and the everyday sacred, encouraging us to reflect on how we, too, are vessels of transformation.
At the heart of Bloom lies a celebration of the intersection between nature, memory, and ritual, whether the fleeting beauty of a flower, the steady rhythm of the seasons, or the personal journeys we undertake.
This exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves in the rich textures, forms, and hues that artists have drawn from nature’s endless inspiration.
