Ever wanted to learn how to play the ukulele? Here’s your chance. Join local ukulele teacher Phillip Chalker for fun, supportive, and engaging workshops designed for complete beginners of all ages and abilities. 

Phillip is a tutor based in Traralgon.

What You’ll Learn:

This one-off beginner workshop will cover the fundamentals to get you playing simple songs:
• The different parts of the ukulele and the names of the strings
• How to tune your ukulele
• Basic strumming techniques
• Two simple chords so you can start playing songs straight away 

Workshop Details:

First workshop date: Thursday, 29 January 2026
Schedule (2026): Workshops are held on the last Thursday of every month
• Session 1: 10:00 am – 11:30 am
• Session 2: 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
• Group size: Up to four people per session

Location: At the tutor’s home. The address will be provided once your booking is confirmed Essential Requirement

All participants must bring their own ukulele and tuner to the workshop.

Cost and Booking: Lesson fee: $25 per person per session
Materials fee: A one-time $10 fee applies to the first workshop you attend. This includes printed learning materials and a take-home folder

Payment methods: PayID, cash, or Square machine

RSVP: Please RSVP by the Monday before each workshop. When booking, advise whether you are attending Session 1, Session 2, or both.

Important Notes: Children are welcome but must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
