Lunar & Planetary Public Observing Night
Have you ever looked at Venus, Saturn or the Moon through a good telescope? What about a comet or the planet Uranus?
You are invited to a free public observing night at the Morwell Town Common on Friday 8th November.
The Latrobe Valley Astronomical Society members will have a range of telescopes set up for lunar and planetary viewing.
Assuming that it’s clear, you will be able to see lots of Moon craters, Saturn’s wonderful rings, Venus maybe not quite as you expected, plus the colour disk of the planet Uranus. The Comet Tsuchanshan-ATLAS may be visible in binoculars.
If the sky is not clear, we will still be able to show you various types of telescopes, what we otherwise would have seen in the sky and answer any questions you may have.
You are also welcome to bring your own telescope to get some guidance using it.
We will be set up near the corner of Elgin and Chapel Streets, Morwell, from 7:45 pm onwards.
