This group masterclass is a unique opportunity for young regional performers to gain insight into the professional world of musicals and storytelling though song.
To participate – you will need to bring along a selection of no less than three, no more than eight songs, that you know well – and their sheet music, in the correct key.
You will not require a backing track, there will be an accompanist. Through-out the masterclass you will participate in ensemble singing skills as well as having the opportunity to perform solo. You will be introduced to techniques used by professional performing artists as well as receiving advice on developing a career in the music theatre industry.
To get the most out of this workshop you should bring songs that are appropriate for your voice type and age. You will also need to bring an open mind and be ready to try new ideas and diverse ways of rehearsing a song. It will help if you are ready to step outside of your ‘comfort zone’ just a little.
NOTE: Please come dressed in comfortable clothing you can move in. Please BYO snacks, water bottle and sheet music. No need for backing tracks. The workshop will have an accompanist.
