Yallourn North

Yallourn North has a history dating back to the 1920s, when it was known as Brown Coal Mine, and housed workers from the nearby Yallourn power station and open-cut coal mine. The town is home to around 2,500 locals forming a strong community, and there is plenty of space for growth.

History is a big part of Yallourn North, with an active volunteer historical association preserving the Old Brown Coal Mine Museum which is open to the public.

Yallourn North is attractive for families, too, with amenities including Monash Hall for community events, a supermarket, a pub, a primary school and kindergarten. Plus, you can stay active at the local outdoor swimming pool or the nearby Yallourn Golf Club.
