Since 2000, Latrobe City Council has committed to an International Relations Program for our community. Through our Sister City relationships with Takasagom Japan and Taizhou, China, Latrobe works to establish opportunities for international economy, trade, science and technology, cultural exchange, education, sports, health and people.
The history and importance of these relationships are important, yet Latrobe City still maintains a strong vision to increase international trade and investment opportunities for businesses in our community. We’ve already seen strong investment from international companies such as Alinta Energy, Nippon Paper and Energy Australia, and further engagement is a key part of our development strategy.
